Titan Flow Control, Inc. offers two special products that are essential to the protection of centrifugal pumps in piping systems: a Suction Diffuser and a Tri-Flow Control Check Valve.
Suction Diffuser
Titan's SD 22-CI functions as a strainer, mechanically preventing foreign particles in a pipeline from passing through and harming the pump. In addition to its straining capabilities, suction diffusers have straightening vanes to reduce turbulence in the flow and to alleviate stress and erosion on the pump.
Titan manufactures each suction diffuser with a mesh start-up screen that can be removed after the initial introductory period, thus two screens are unnecessary. The SD 22 comes standard with a quick-open knob cover providing easy access to the straining element for cleaning and maintenance.
Tri-flow Control Check Valve
Titan FCI's TF 21-CI is a spring-loaded valve that can be adjusted with its ACME rising stem from a full flow position to complete shut-off. Automatic shut-off is achieved via the spring assisted disc that closes near zero flow velocity helping to prevent flow reversal, slamming, and surges that could harm the pump.
Special features of Titan's TF 21 include a graduated position indicator on the stem for an accurate check of the valve's position and a hand wheel for ease of operation. The soft-seated, dovetail, o-ring groove ensures a bubble tight seal in the closed position. The disc's low cracking pressure reduces the amount of energy required to open the valve and the valve's large body minimizes head loss across the valve.
